A couple of years ago, I bought a book of reproduction vintage valentines. I love them so much I don't want to give them all the way, but I also want to be able to enjoy them. So...I've made some bunting using some extra wide bias tape.
This would also be a fun way to collect and display valentines that you receive from friend and loved ones. You could create a strand of valentines each year (post Valentine's Day) and then hang them in your children's rooms.
MATERIALS:
- Valentine cards
- Extra wide double bias tape
Step 1: Lay out your cards in the order that you want them to appear. Then, stack them, keeping them in order.
Step 2: Using a zig-zag stitch, begin sewing the tail. (I made mine about a 7" tail).
Step: 3: Sandwich your first valentine between the bias tape and continue sewing.
Step 4: Continue placing valentines between the tape and sew all your cards, leaving a tail at the end.

So cute!! I need to remember this technique the next time I need to display a number of paper items.

Great idea! I too fall in love with these vintage Valentines and then hoard them because I don't want to give them away, but don't know what else to do with them. I will do this for sure because we need some V-day decorations in the house!

I have that book and thought about doing the exact same thing with them! Great minds think alike. ;-)

Oh cute! We did something very similar (but slightly easier) this weekend for a Valentine's party. We just hung some pretty wired ribbon, and attached these same vintage Valentines to it with heart-shaped clothes pins!

What an awesome idea! I saved all the little valentines from my school days (I'm 38) and recently was wondering whether I should keep them or toss them. I'm glad I kept them, because now I have a great way to use them:)
