I am greatly disappointed that we lost our waterfront view.
I actually don't have anything cute to replace the window treatments now. But these have been taken down and nice curtain rods have been hung. Our two windows bring in so much light. I love it, so I think I might want to just do a small valance that doesn't take away from that light.
When I sit in my bed I look out to a beautiful old pine tree. I will take a picture next time it snows. It's a wonderful sight to wake up to.
This is my new beautiful headboard. We found the old door in the shed on the side of house. And my handy husband cleaned it off and mounted it on the wall.
What we did in this room:
- Painted walls (shortbread) and the trim and doors (formerly dark stained wood)
- Added crown molding
- New ceiling fan
- New carpet
My quilt was a birthday present from my mom and dad. I've been searching and searching for a quilt with lots of beautiful color, but one that's not too floral-y. Oh and also one that doesn't cost and arm and a leg.
Our former comforter had been on our bed since we were first married (10 years) and it was shot. Like tears and feathers falling out.
This quilt was on clearance at JC Penny's for $65. I found this lovely coordinating pillow to match.
I love the old hardware still on my door headboard.
It's a pretty roomy space. On the far side if the room:
I wake up looking at this mantra each day.
And also this good reminder.
This dresser and the piece pictured above were some lovely hand-me-downs from a friend's grandmother.
There are several nick knacks in this room that bring me lots of joy to look upon. Like my Nancy Drew game board.
