After naptime, we went and visited my grandparents (dad's parents), Aunt Marlene, my cousin Meredith and her son. Then, we came home to finish preparations for a Passover Seder.
This was my second time to celebrate Good Friday with a Messianic Passover Seder meal and a first for my mom and dad. My grandfather (mom's dad), his friend Mary and Aunt Cheryl also attended.
As we sat around this Seder plate (above), Dad read the Haggadah (The Telling). A Messianic Passover is different from a traditional Jewish Passover meal because it reflects on how Christ fulfilled the prophecies and how He is our lamb sacrifice, like the ones used on the night before the exodus from Egypt. God gave the Israelites freedom from Egypt and He gave us freedom from sin through Christ's sacrifice on the cross. (Note: The date of Passover does not always match up with Easter, but many Christians I know celebrate it on Good Friday because it is very meaningful in light of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.) It's a very meaningful celebration and I am just beginning to understand all the significance of the tradition.
