For our last day in the city, we went to the Martha Stewart taping (blogged about here). Then, we headed to the Plaza Hotel for our "last big fling in the city." Really, getting a drink in the lobby of the Plaza is all we could afford to do so we each ordered a "Manhattan in Manhattan." Never had a Manhattan before, never think I will again. A little too strong for my taste. But it was for the experience of "having a Manhattan in Manhattan," right?
The three of us sat in the plush chairs and made a plan and a pact. A plan to lose some weight. The three of us have been friends for many years and thus have known and remember each other in our "lighter years." So we've made a pact to get rid of our "extra." We're Skyping weekly and calling and encouraging each other. Each of our plans are a little different, but our main weight goals are the same.
I feel like my two girlfriends were a real answer to prayer for me in this area. Back in January (and mentioned here), I got serious about eating right and began working out on the treadmill 4-5 days a week. Part of motivation was to drop a pant size by my NYC trip. Unfortunately my fat had a different plan. Even after my hard work for two solid months, I lost no weight and my size didn't change either. I went into the trip feeling really discouraged. (I've always been able to get in shape if I've put some effort into it.) Before the trip I asked the Lord to help motivate me and give me some direction for the next step in my exercise/health routine. He did that through Erin and Kristen.
We've been into it about a week. Part of my plan is giving up dairy, which has actually been easier than I thought. I'm going to begin doing weights this week and will get back on the treadmill. Fat get ready to flee!
Amen sister!!

I know about that kind of fat. I lose it and in such a short time it finds me again. I can even be in another state and it still finds me.
