So, since we camp at least four times during the summer, we've collected a few things that we LOVE to have when we are out in the wilderness. I've decided to create a "camping" category in my Mustard Seeds Bookshop to share some of these items with you.
Here are few items, I can't live without.
My cute headlamp. I actually keep this by my bed at home, too, so that if I want to stay up late reading, Matt can still get to sleep. I also travel with it. It's more convenient (especially when I was nursing) than trying to find the light switch when you are in a new place. There's also a kid-sized one in my shop. Basically, each member of the family has their own.
We use these Pie Iron sandwich makers almost every morning when we camp. The standard is white bread, egg, cheese and sausage (already precooked). Matt is the best sandwich cooker out of all of us. You can expect another post on Pie Irons soon. I think we are going to try some new recipes when we go camping this coming weekend. You can make Ruben and grilled cheese sandwiches at lunch, jelly and cream cheese sandwiches for dessert/snacks, pizza pockets for dinner...the possibilities are endless.
This year, I purchased a new French press at Bass Pro. The body is made out of hard plastic so it won't shatter like the French press I use at home each morning. And, this is way easier than trying to use a percolator.
Also, be sure to pick out some books to take with you....
Do you have any favorite books or comfort items that you can't live without? Tell me about them.
LOVE the camping ideas! Keep 'em coming! :)

I'm not much of a camper, but if I did go camping then I would want these items for sure! Hope you have a great time camping though!

we are going camping at the end of june. We have a 3 1/2 year old and a 7 month old. Our church put together a weekend for families to camp together. We are going to test it out for a weekend...in a tent, but the campgrounds are pretty great...pools, lake, clean bathrooms, tennis, playgrounds, etc...Your suggestions are helpful..thanks.

My kids each have a headlamp and it is the BEST invention ever! Never thought to take it when I travel, but that is a fab idea.
My friend brought her french press last year and I thought that was brilliant...but your plastic one for camping is even more brilliant!
Do you really make french press coffee every morning? You'll have to give me your measurements. Mine never tastes as good as the drip coffeemaker. ;)
