Here are a few detail shots of my kitchen and a few little notes.
First of all, I LOVE my stove/oven. It's a double oven, with a true convection bake setting on the bottom. A few Sundays ago, I had both ovens loaded and set with different temperatures and delay start times on both. When I got home from church every dish was heated to perfection! Also I love the gas range. In the center is long narrow burner that allows me attach a griddle to do pancakes.
I love my little coffee station.
I love my faux tin back splash. They are actually plastic. Normally they are about $16 per square sheet. We scored these on clearance for $4 per sheet.
My under-counter lighting....
I cannot tell you how much I adore my new cabinets. Maple with a mocha glaze. We have very few upper cabinets since we took out walls and there are so many windows. But no worries, I've got a ton lower cabinets and PLENTY of counterspace.
I have always wanted pulls like these...
All my cabinet doors and drawers have a no-slam, auto-close feature. That's right, you can literally shove it and it will ease its way into closing. It really is magical.
I am crazy about having my dishes in drawers. A plate drawer, a bowl drawer and a kid's dinnerware drawer. How did I ever live without this kind of organization?
Hidden trash cans...
I have also always wanted an appliance garage to hide my toaster. My dream has been realized and it is bliss to hide away bread and crumbs every morning.
Red and polka dots--two of my very favorite things. I simply taped wrapping paper on the back of these shelves. I think I might want to do this in my pantry as well.
These are my maple hardwood floors. Three different plank widths. Installed by my beloved husband.
At the end of the kitchen is my desk, which NEVER looks this neat and tidy.
On the far side of the desk (the part that pokes out into the family room), we had the granite cut out in an arch to create a bar. I can just see the kids doing homework here while I make dinner.
I have always, always, always wanted a door like this. I sit at my desk while the kids play in the sun room and can hear and see everything. This door formerly resided on the other side of where the desk/bar is now. We removed the sliding glass door and moved this door in its place (obviously having to add some wall, too). Did I mention I like red?
Also, it's wonderful to have a place to organize my cookbooks and recipe binders.
Beautiful & Fabulous. I love the Dutch door, the polka dots, the floors...well I guess you understand that I just love the whole darned thing! Congrats & enjoy the baking.

Beautiful! I love how the desk opens to the living room, so if you wanted, you could work and still see the kidlets...or read recipes from the computer easily. :)

I love your coffee station, too. It sort of makes me want to start drinking coffee on a regular basis just so I could set one up!
I also really love all the red you incorporated. Especially the little curtain over the fridge--so clever!!!
Thanks for sharing! It's so fun to see!

Wow, I like the combination of your kitchen design, the coffee station with under-counter lighting. You really are good in home keeping.

That was the type of oven I was looking for. Where did you bought it?
