Wednesday was the first day of Lent--Ash Wednesday.
Easter is a big deal to me. You could say it's my soapbox. I preach "celebrate the season" to anyone who will listen.
I wasn't raised in a church that celebrated Lent. But in the last five years, it has become very significant to me. I'm not sure how it all started. I think it had to do with teaching my first-born Anne what Easter was really all about. I began to realize how little time and focus was given to Easter, particularly in the evangelical Christian community. I knew I would have to be intentional and get creative about practicing Lent in my home with my little sprouts. And that's how my Lent journey began.

Are you celebrating the SEASON of Easter this year? Tell us how in the comments section.
These are the two books on our Kindle that we are reading this season of Lent.
I feel the same way! I didn't grow up celebrating Lent but after reading about it we decided to do it with our children. We are using The Jesus Tree and the book A Place at the Table by Chris Seay!

We do not "celebrate" Lent, but I do want to learn more about it and research it. We do however make a big deal about Easter and what it truly is about for us as Christians. I just ordered more Easter books, we decorated and do several of your crafts I found here a couple of years ago. Another thing I started last year was placing a Mesquite tree branch in with my flower arrangements. You can read about it here...

Thank you Janna for always inspiring me to show the love of Jesus with my children.
