Only 25 days left until Easter. It's the equivalent of Dec. 1 until Christmas. It would be the time you start opening the doors of your advent calendar.
When you are trying to make an impression on your kids about an event, vacation, birthday, what do moms usually try to create? Anticipation. Today is a great time to begin creating the anticipation of Easter. Start by making a countdown chain. I had each of my kids create their own today and hang them up in their rooms.
Now, you would think that the lack of candy or prize would take way from the fun of this activity. But no. Sometime simple joys are just that, simple. You would be amazed how excited how your kids get when they get to break off a link of the chain. It also gives toddlers a really concrete sense of "how many sleeps" there are left before Easter.
We used pretty scrapbook paper. But you can use whatever kind of paper you want. Simply staple, tape or glue your links together to make a chain.
So paper-chain away, mamas!
