A wise friend once told my husband and I, "Remember that your kids will love what you love. Make it the Lord." It's true. Our kids try to imitate us in every way (whether they realize it or not).
If you want your kids to love and know God's Word, then they need to see you reading the Bible and applying His wisdom.
If you want your kids to pray, then they need to see you sincerely and regularly talking with the Lord.
And if you want to help them grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ, it means that you, too, must continue to grow in your faith.
It brings tears to my eyes any time I look up from my morning quiet time to see Anne "doing her Bible study" (a Bible story coloring book). She does it without a prompting word from me. Why? Because she wants to do what Mommy does. Moments like this are a major motivation for me to get in the Word.
I encourage you sure to deepen your personal walk with Christ, remembering that little eyes are watching.
Here are some resources that have helped me fertilize my faith.
